Transition for Year 6 Students
We at Halewood Academy understand that the transition from primary school to secondary school is a very important stage in a child’s education. Halewood Academy offers a comprehensive Transition Programme for all children joining the school. Our extensive programme comprises initial support towards the end of Year 6 and further support when students join us in September.

Transition Programme
For the attention of our new Year 7 students starting in September! Congratulations on being offered a place at Halewood Academy, you will be the largest year group that we have ever had. Please read the booklet as it will provide you with lots of important information about life at Halewood Academy.
As a school, we offer face-to-face transition meetings to each feeder school. These allow key members of our transition team to reassure and meet our new arrivals and importantly provide an opportunity for them to ask any questions they may have and any particular support each child needs or requires.

Summer School
In July each year, all students are invited to a week long Summer School which will provide the opportunity to meet their new peers and build initial relationships.

Welcome Year 7!
"I am Heidi, Halewood Academy’s 23/24 Principal Prefect.
Firstly, a warm welcome to Halewood Academy. It feels like only yesterday I was about to join Year 7, but the time has flown by, and I have just completed my GCSE exams which means I am officially at the end of my journey at Halewood Academy. Halewood Academy isn’t just a great school, it is also a community where everyone seeks the best in themselves and each other, it is a place where everyone is welcome and encouraged to aspire to excel both in school and in life. With our many extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities there is endless support and guidance to help you achieve everything you want to and more. Halewood Academy, there is something for everyone to enjoy and if my five years at Halewood Academy has taught me anything it is that all staff have your best interest at heart and they will push you to do your very best by inspiring you daily through interactive lessons and always prioritising your wellbeing.
