Twelve Year 10 students recently took part in the Brilliant Club which involved the students going to Lancaster University for a launch trip before taking part in six tutorials in school whilst completing their own research on a STEM topic involving cyber security. The students then had to write a 2000 word assignment which was marked at University level.
All of the students submitted excellent, well researched assignments and passed with flying colours. Six of our students received a first class grade which is the highest possible grade, These were Kate Wheatley, Megan Doughty, Matthew Jennings, Reece Brown, Karlie-Anne Bisset and Amy Tennant.
The students will attend a graduation ceremony at Liverpool University in the coming weeks to receive their certificates and celebrate this fantastic achievement. As the students did so well, they have been asked to read parts of their assignment in a presentation during the graduation.
Miss Kenyon said 'I and all the maths staff are so proud of the 12 students who completed their assignment. They all did fantastically well and received the grades they worked hard for. We are also incredibly proud that they have been chosen to read extracts from their assignments at their graduation.'
